The province of Cádiz is the most southern of the Iberian Peninsula. It has a perimeter of 586 kilometres with 260 corresponding to the coast. Its surface is 7,385 kilometres distributed in 44 municipalities. Its population slightly exceeds one million inhabitants, giving it density over the national average.

Cádiz is fortunate and unique; it joins all of the attractions that may catch the fancy of those who value tourism in its true cultural and festive, ecological and monumental, traditional, authentic and essentially Andalusian aspects.

Sanlucar de Barrameda

The municipality of Sanlúcar de Barrameda is located in the north-western part of the Cádiz province, close to the river mouth of the Guadalquivir River. On the other river bank we can look at Doñana's National Park, former private estate of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia that is one of the most important natural reserves of Europe, surrounded by a wide natural park, where a great variety of ecosystems are observed, like the Algaida pine groves and the Bonanza marshes.

With more than a one hundred fifty year status, the horse races are one of the most important attractions of the summer celebrations, largely for the singularity of the setting where they are celebrated, the Sanlúcar Beach that turns into a brilliant and natural racetrack during low tide and in the late afternoon.
