The city of Jaén, of very ancient origin, relies on important structures that summarise every historic century of the city. Among them are outlined the Arabic Baths constructed in the period of Abd-Al-Rahman II and the numerous convents of the 16th century, among which the Royal Convent of Santo Domingo stands out, or the Cathedral, declared a historical and cultural monument, exemplifies Renaissance style in its purest form.
Only 50 km from the capital, one may find the monumental cities of Úbeda and Baeza, mutually declared patrimonial cities of humanity by UNESCO in 2004. One can visit Úbeda, famous for its valued "ubedies" of traditional embroidered esparto, pottery and traditional ceramics. In this city it is also possible to visit the Church of Salvador. If you prefer a natural privileged environment, it is possible to choose any of the numerous natural reserves the Province of Jaén has to offer: Sierra de Cazorla, Despeñaperros, Sierras de Andujar y Sierra de Mágina.
